Monte Gordo is a parish of Vila Real de Santo Antonio, and forms part of the municipality that borders with the spanish locality of Ayamonte or Rio Guadiana. This residential area is dedicated to tourism, and has a population of approximately 4500 inhabitants. MonteGordo is a must see. It is only about 3 kilometers from the center of Vila Real de Santo Antonio, an old fisherman town. It was only in the 60´s that they started building hotels, apartments, houses etc., to fit the needs of the increasing tourism. MonteGordo offers the widest range of hotels in the entire Algarve.
MonteGordo is a location where you can enjoy the beaches and leisure activities as well as nature and sports. There is also a great cultural offer.
